  • (31 Jul 2017) Announcements will be posted in this section. The first Attachment section below will contain scanned PDF copies of the document camera lecture notes and extra lecture notes, as well as case studies and R and Maple code; the second Attachment section will contain secure documents, available only by logging into the web page.
  • (4 Aug 2017) Take-Home Test 1 is now available in the Attachments section below, in .pdf and .tex formats; the target due date for uploading your solutions to canvas.ucsc.edu is Mon 14 Aug 2017.
  • (7 Aug 2017) Office hours for the rest of the term, starting today (all office hours will be in Baskin (BE) 358 unless otherwise notified): Mon 11.30am-12.30pm (DD); Tue 3.30-4.30pm (RG); Wed 12.30-1.30pm (RG); Thu 10-11am (SS); Fri 11.30am-12.30pm (DD) and 1.30-2.30pm (SS).
  • (14 Aug 2017) Take-Home Test 2 is now available in the Attachments section below, in .pdf and .tex formats; the target due date for uploading your solutions to canvas.ucsc.edu is Wed 23 Aug 2017.
  • (19 Aug 2017) For the rest of the term, starting on Mon 21 Aug 2017, DD's office hours will be at the same time (MF 11.30am-12.30pm), but they will now take place in the Baskin Auditorium, right after class.
  • (21 Aug 2017) I've decided to add an extra office hour this week on Wed 23 Aug 2017, from 11.30am to 12.30pm, also in Baskin Auditorium.
  • (22 Aug 2017) Some people have emailed our TA Rene Gutierrez to say that they work all day and can't make daytime office hours. In response to this, Rene has kindly volunteered to give two new office hours this week and next week, in addition to his regular hours. The new office hours will all be in Baskin Engineering 358, and will take place as follows: Wed 23 Aug 2017 6-7pm, Thu 24 Aug 6-7pm, Wed 30 Aug 6-7pm, and Thu 31 Aug 6-7pm.

  • (23 Aug 2017) For the reasons given in my email (sent to you today), I've changed the deadline at canvas.ucsc.edu for uploading Take-Home Test 1: the new deadline is 1 minute before midnight on Sun 27 Aug 2017. Please ensure that you've uploaded your solutions by then.
  • (23 Aug 2017) Our TA Sisi Song has kindly volunteered to give extra office hours this weekend: these will occur from 11am to 1pm on Sat 26 Aug 2017 in Jack's Lounge (ground floor of Baskin, opposite end of the building from the coffee kiosk).
